There's something haunting to me about code poetry. The medium of poetry has always been evolving and its presentation - words on a page - has remained consistent, but code poetry stretches poetry to its post-modern limits. This project by Daniel Holden and Chris Kerr shows some of my favorite code poems, like Flocking.

Animation is such a breathtaking and miraculous art. I love to learn more about animation techniques, from hand-drawn illustrations to 3D engine tools. One of my favorite YouTube channels, Hobbes Sakuga, highlights animation clips around a central theme, like Liquids or Running. You can start to see the patterns and shared visual language animators use to capture action and movement.

I'm fascinated by history, and one of my favorite ways to contextualize historical eras is through art, fashion, and architecture history. You can get a deeper understanding of an era's cultures, power dynamics, and core belief systems through studying the media and art of the Rococo style, for example. One of my favorite subjects of study is the The Meiji Period, where Western influence clashed with Japanese traditional styles, and how the art of that period embodied the period's unrest.

I'm a sucker for the 70's. The movies (especially horror movies), the art, the music, the style, everything from this decade fascinates me. I love disco and psychedelic/prog rock music (Earth Wind & Fire, Genesis, Klaatu, ELO), and am particularly fond of Peter Max's artwork. I worked PR on a game called The Artful Escape, a truly remarkable experience of a game and campaign, that embodies a lot of this period's bold and colorful style.
